PAINT YOUR OWN FAIRY DOOR with Louise Cherry
Time - 10.30am
Location - Village Green Marquee
Duration - 40 minutes
Age - 3-8 (under 6 must be accompanied by an adult at all times)
Cost - €10
Capacity - 10
This workshop allows younger children not only to imagine what lies behind the magic door but to decorate it themselves. Will your door become a pitstop for the tooth fairy, an addition to a fairy garden or something we haven’t even thought of? This is where children’s imaginations, fairy doors and a guiding artist come together to create something special.
Bring your fairy door home. You will be responsible for varnishing / weather proofing for outdoor use.
PAINT YOUR OWN BIRD BOX with Louise Cherry
Time - 11.30am
Location - Village Green Marquee
Duration - 40 minutes approx
Age - 6+
Cost - €12
Capacity - 10
For older children (this includes adults!), Louise will guide you through some of the methods by which you can decorate your bird box. What do we think about when we think about birds? What sort of rest spot would a bird like? You’ll enjoy this workshop and be able to bring your bird box home.
The bird boxes themselves have kindly been made and donated by our charity partners Open Door, Bray and the proceeds of this workshop will be returned to them.
You will be responsible for varnishing / weather proofing for outdoor use.
MAKE YOUR OWN CLAY ANIMAL with Rose O'Driscoll
Time - 1pm
Location - Village Green Marquee
Duration - 20 mins - 1 hour+ depending on detail required
Age - 8+
Cost - €10
Capacity - 10
You will be guided through a workshop using professional grade air-dry clay to build your own clay animal. This can take the form of a moulded wall tile or, with Rose’s guidance, you can take a little more time to make an animal bust from scratch. There is room for some frivolity here and the workshop is also open to adults.
You can bring your creation home on the day, it will dry to a terracotta finish. If you wish, you can paint once fully dry (we recommend acrylic paint).
